12 August 2006 - CO2 fertilising greenhouses!
400 greenhouses outside Rotterdam are given CO2 from an oil refinery that would otherwise merely dissipate into the atmosphere. The venture has had such a significant effect on plants that it is now being extended to 100 more greenhouses.

John Howard has rejected the idea to introduce carbon taxes for excessive guzzlers. Australia is one of the few countries not to sign up to the Kyoto protocol - the PM says it would damage economy. Australia's energy comes almost entirely from coal.
